A showcase of some of the top high school football teams in the region will return to Ocean City from Friday to Sunday. The second annual Battle at the Beach will feature 11 games from Aug. 26 to Aug. 28 at Carey Stadium at Sixth Street and the Boardwalk.
The hometown Ocean City Red Raiders, coming off a school record of 12 wins in 2021, will open their season with a game against Neshaminy, Pa., at 7 p.m. Friday.
The three-day event offers a chance to see some great games between top programs from New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
“I want to welcome all of these athletes, coaches, families and fans to Ocean City,” Mayor Jay Gillian said. “I’m glad that our exceptional facility at Carey Stadium can host this new tradition, and I hope that everybody gets to enjoy all that Ocean City has to offer while they’re here.”
