The 65th annual Night in Venice is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. Saturday, July 13, and boats are still invited to participate in the parade. It’s a chance to be part of the highlight of the summer season in Ocean City — with thousands of spectators lining the bayfront and thousands more attending private parties at homes along the route from the Ocean City-Longport Bridge to Tennessee Avenue. A fireworks display caps off the bayfront celebration.
The first 75 boats to register will receive an “Ocean City Swag Bag” filled with goodies. Boat owners also get a complimentary photo of their boat in the parade and a commemorative mug. The theme of this year’s event is “Celebrate: 65 Years of Night in Venice.” Boats and homes can be decorated with themes that bring back favorite memories from NIV history. The theme is optional. Boat owners are welcome to choose their own themes. Entries for boats and homes will be taken online at www.ocnj.us/niv or by calling 609-399-6111.
