Warmer and More Humid Holiday Weekend

  • News
After a stretch of sunny, mainly dry and pleasant weather, humidity is returning for the holiday weekend. High Pressure will build offshore pumping warmer and more uncomfortable conditions. Overall the weather will be near perfect for the beaches this weekend into the 4th. Southerly winds will keep temperatures cooler along the coast for Friday & Saturday as temperatures inland will climb into to near 90. Ocean temperatures are still running below normal (in the low to mid 60s) and the surf will run around 2-4 feet. The main danger this weekend will be rip currents. As always be sure not to swim alone and swim at guarded beaches. Our best chance of any storms could occur late Saturday as a frontal system pushes into our area. Sunday will be the hottest day of the extended holiday weekend as westerly winds will keep seabreezes from developing. Temperatures along the beach will rise into the upper 80s to near 90.
