Harry S. Murrel, 61, of Pleasantville, NJ passed away unexpectedly at his home on Friday, June 24, 2016.
Born in Somers Point he had lived in Ocean City, was a 1973 graduate of Ocean City High School and has been a Pleasantville resident for many years.
Harry was a short order cook for Bob’s Restaurant in Ocean City for many years.
He was predeceased by his parents: Richard and Barbara (nee Wright) Murrel and a sister: Stephanie I. Murrel.
Surviving are three brothers: Richard R. Murrel of Egg Harbor Township, Keith A. Murrel (Mary) of Hanover, MD, Tracy K. Murrel (Arvis) of Cranford, NJ, a sister: Doris E. Murrel of Cheltenham, MD, Aunt: Jane Pillow of Woodstock, GA, Aunt: Joan Murrel of Suisan, CA, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins, best childhood friend: John Motley, his companion of 12 years Carmen Cruz of Absecon, NJ, other childhood friends: Pop Rackley, Thomas Jones and close friends: Michele Williams and Aungie Alexander.
His funeral service will be offered Saturday, July 2, 2016 morning at 11 o’clock from The Godfrey Funeral Home, 809 Central Avenue, Ocean City, NJ where friends may call from 10 o’clock until time of service.
Burial will follow in Lincoln Memorial Park, Mays Landing, NJ.
