Mayor Jay Gillian: Support the Ocean City Pops

  • News
Judy Collins Judy Collins The following is Ocean City Mayor Jay Gillian’s
weekly update to citizens posted on Friday, June 19.
Dear Friends: This weekend, one of my favorite Ocean City traditions kicks off the summer season: opening night for the Ocean City Pops Orchestra. The orchestra’s special guest this year is folk legend Judy Collins. Ms. Collins is an iconic Grammy-award winning singer-songwriter, well known for her imaginative interpretations of folk standards. We are very fortunate to have her perform at the Ocean City Music Pier. There are still a few tickets remaining, so please come out and support the Ocean City Pops opening night and all season. We also learned this week, that as a result of popular demand, the Beach Boys will be playing an extra night in Ocean City, with two additional shows now scheduled for Tuesday, August 25. Tickets will be available this weekend at the box office at the Music Pier. Get your tickets early, as the first two shows sold out quick. I would like to remind everyone that on Saturday, June 27 I will hold a town hall meeting on back bay dredging at 1:00 PM in the Howard S. Stainton Senior Center. The senior center is located within the Community Center at 18th and Simpson. I plan to inform everyone on the status, history, finances and the challenges. I also congratulate the Ocean City High School class of 2015. I wish you nothing but success in your future and am sure you will make Ocean City and your families proud. I would like to wish a happy Father’s Day to all, especially my Dad. I hope each of you has a wonderful Father’s Day with your family in “America’s Greatest Family Resort.” Warm regards, Jay A. Gillian Mayor
