Visitors will be able to sample a variety of eateries at discounted prices during Ocean City Restaurant Week from Monday (June 8) through Saturday (June 13). Participating restaurants will offer special prix fixe (fixed price) menus during the promotion — some include two meals for one price, others offer discounted prices. To see details on participating restaurants, visit eatinocnj.com. The promotion provides a good opportunity to try new places such as Frankie's on the Bay
(at the former location of Bongo Cafe at 11th Street and Bay Avenue) or Hug-a-Mug Cafe (at the former location of Who's on First at First Street and Asbury Avenue). It gives a chance for folks to try dinner at a favorite year-round breakfast and lunch spot like Jon & Patty's (637 Asbury Avenue). And it's a chance to visit staples like Cousins Restaurant (First Street and Asbury), Island Grill (First and Atlantic) or Emily's Ocean Room (in the Flanders Hotel at 11th Street and Boardwalk). _________ Sign up for free Ocean City news updates from OCNJ Daily. _________ The Ocean City Restaurant Association decided to schedule the week earlier in June this year "to try to bring people over the bridge," according to Bill McGinnity, owner of Cousins. He said the event also gives locals a good reason to dine out before the peak summer crowds arrive. "It's been a successful event since the inception," said McGinnity, who already has a base of reservations for next week.
