"The Golden Years" is a 2015 oil painting by Carla Migliaccio. Migliaccio's art will be on exhibit throughout January (Jan. 4 to Jan. 30). Migliaccio's work can be found around the community. Migliaccio painted a number of murals in the Ocean City Primary School and eight traffic boxes around the city. She collaborated with other artists on the Ocean City V.F.W. mural and the water life panels at 6th Street and Bay Avenue. Migliaccio's interest in art blossomed in her high school years. She considers her Ocean City High School art teacher James N. Pulvino her mentor. "(Pulvino) truly nurtured my passion for art, and the greatest compliment I have received is that Jim would be proud of me," Migliaccio said. But it was not until retiring from 25 years as Head Custodian in the Ocean City School District that Migliaccio's art career took off.  After retirement she studied various mediums from artists Kim Weiland, Nancy Palermo, Susan Rau, Barbara Rosin and Wanda Kline at the Ocean City Arts Center. Migliaccio has exhibited at the Ocean City Fine Arts League, and participated in a group show titled “In the Manner of Henri Matisse” at the Ocean City Arts Center.
