The Ocean City Aquatic & Fitness Center will co-sponsor CONTACT Cape-Atlantic's 10th Annual Triathlon. The event features a 2.4 mile swim.
The 10th Annual CONTACT Cape-Atlantic Triathlon/Duathlon will be held from Jan. 18 to Feb. 15.
Participants will swim, bike, and run a long-distance triathlon over the course of a month. The triathlon includes
a 2.4 mile swim, an 112 mile bike ride, and a 26 mile run. Those who sign up for the duathlon can opt to complete any two of the three triathlon events. Other forms of exercise can contribute to total mileage. A spin class will serve as a portion of the bike and walking can contribute to the total run.
Participants will receive a calendar for logging miles at registration. They will also receive a tee shirt and the chance to win a FitBit activity tracker. The first place triathlon finisher will receive a one month membership to the Ocean City Aquatic and Fitness Center.
The registration fee is $30. Students pay $10. Participants can register at

Proceeds will benefit CONTACT Cape-Atlantic. CONTACT Cape-Atlantic is a non-profit group that makes daily telephone calls to elderly and disabled clients to ensure their safety as they continue to live independently in their homes.
