The 141 Days of Summer: Daily Beach Report Slideshow

  • News
Most Ocean City residents, merchants and visitors will remember the summer of 2014 as a memorable one for good weather, and a look back at images from each day shows that, yes, it was a pretty nice season. OCNJ Daily snapped an image at dawn each day from Memorial Day to Columbus Day. That's our loose definition of  "summer" — the period when it's reasonably comfortable to peel off the neoprene and take a swim in the ocean. It's not entirely uncommon to see 70-degree water in early October, though this year we finished at 64 degrees on Oct. 13, after starting at 61 degrees on May 26. From here, the ocean temp begins its steady decline. The days get shorter, and we start to fall into that deep depression otherwise known as winter. But it's always nice to look back, and, of course, to begin the countdown to summer 2015. The slideshow above includes all 141 days of our "summer" in order. __________
