Mayor Jay Gillian: Dweezil Zappa and Indigo Girls Among Summer Bookings

  • Things To Do
Dweezil Zappa, son of the legendary Frank Zappa, will perform on the Ocean City Music Pier this summer.
The following is Ocean City Mayor Jay Gillian’s weekly update to citizens, posted on Friday, May 2.
Dear Friends:
There’s a great weather forecast for what many of our residents, property owners and guests think of as the unofficial start of the season: the Spring Block Party.  I hope you’ll join us in Downtown Ocean City for all of the food, fun and shopping that make this such a great event.
Registration is now open for our summer recreation programs and camps.  Ocean City’s recreation programs offer something for everyone giving children opportunities to develop their skills, learn something new and, most importantly, have fun.
The Music Pier will host the always popular Summer Concert Series by the Ocean City Pops .  Artistic Director William Scheible has produced another high quality and varied season of entertainment.  The Pops will also collaborate with the Greater Ocean City Theatre Company under the Direction of Michael Hartman to present Broadway caliber productions of “Guys and Dolls” and “Swing”.
The Music Pier will also host the nationally known acts G. Love and Special Sauce, Dweezil Zappa, Get the Led Out, the Bacon Brothers, The Machine, and the Indigo Girls.  More acts will be announced shortly.

As you can see there’ll be no shortage of things to do once again in Ocean City, America’s Greatest Family Resort.
Have a great weekend and see you at the block party!
Warm regards, Jay A. Gillian
