  • Things To Do
Peggy Kings leads the 2013 Doo Dah Parade in Ocean City. The following news release is from Ocean City Public Relations Director Mark Soifer: Entry registrations are now being taken for Ocean City’s 29th annual Doo Dah Parade starting at noon on April 12. The Parade is a celebration of humor and invites entrants in the following categories: Brigades, Individuals, Clowns, Miscellaneous Entries, Costumed Doggies Other Than Basset Hounds, Basset Hound Waddle, and Tributes to Abbott and Costello and other legendary comedians. Clarification: Brigades consist of five or more deranged entrants. Themes may include anything within the parameters of propriety. Remember, Ocean City is a family-oriented resort.
Individuals: If you would like to march alone and make your mark on Doo Dah history without anyone else’s support, that’s just fine. Miscellaneous includes aliens from outer space, dragons, unicorns and the Leaning Tower of Pisa, everything and the Kitchen Sink. We do have a Kitchen Sink entry every year. Basset Hounds or any other dog prone to tail wagging are also welcome. The Basset Hound Waddle is a separate division and registration is by email at [email protected] or by calling (609) 525-9300. WHERE DO YOU LINE UP? At Sixth Street and Asbury Avenue at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 12. Parade starts at noon. IS THERE A FEE? I mean would you pay to be in this parade? Really? How much? WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU? A collector’s item, 29th-anniversary “I Was a Hot Dog for a Day” T-shirt from Dietz and Watson, plus a Doo Dah Hot Dog Lunch plus lots of fun at America’s and Doo Dah’s Greatest Family Resort.
