The Ocean City Community Association (OCCA) candidates forum scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday (April 23) will include mayoral candidates Jay Gillian and Ed Price, and City Council candidates Mike Allegretto, Keith Hartzell, Mike Hyson, Pete Madden and Eric Sauder.
Mayor Jay Gillian will participate even though his
brother's funeral is scheduled earlier on the same day, OCCA officers said on Monday. They had met earlier to determine the format for the forum and to confirm Gillian's availability.
The public is invited to attend the forum Wednesday at the Ocean City Free Public Library auditorium (17 Street and Simpson Avenue), and the event will give voters the opportunity to interact with the candidates.
At 6 p.m., the five candidates for City Council will be introduced. In alphabetical order, each candidate will have five minutes to speak about themselves and whatever issues they wish. After all five candidates have spoken, the remainder of the hour will be open for one-on-one discussions (with the public invited to ask questions and discuss issues).
