The Ocean City Recreation Department is pleased to announce that the talents of 11 young ladies will be on display in the Junior Miss Ocean City Pageant this weekend.

Reigning Junior Miss Ocean City Megan Keenan will crown her successor at the completion of the pageant 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17 on the Ocean City Music Pier, Moorlyn Terrace and the Boardwalk.

This pageant fills a void between the Little Miss Ocean City and Miss Ocean City pageants and enables young ladies ages 12 through 15 to compete in interview, talent competition, poise and composure and an on-stage question.

The girls will be vying for more than $3,400 in scholarships and awards.

Reigning Little Miss Ocean City Sarah Rodriguez and Miss Ocean City Shannon Wallace will perform, along with former Miss Ocean City Kendall Coughlin and former Little Miss Ocean City Hope Aita.

Tickets are $10 and are available at the City Hall, 861 Asbury Avenue. Seating selection is by reservation and is on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets will be sold at the Music Pier box office the evening of the pageant. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. For ticket information, call 609-525-9300.
