Wealth Advisor Jessica Jung on Why Your Health is Your Greatest Asset

A client walked into Jessica Jung's office needing life insurance. He walked out weeks later having quit smoking entirely.

The founder of Vast Wealth Advisors didn't set out to become a health coach. But somewhere along the way, she realized that no amount of wealth matters if you lack the physical and mental capacity to enjoy it.

"I think our health is our greatest asset, our body. And it's not just our body, but also our emotional and mental wellness," she explains.

The Insurance Exam That Sparked Lasting Change

When high-net-worth clients need life insurance which requires medical exams, most advisors schedule the appointment and move on. Jessica Jung recognized these moments as opportunities to help clients invest in their most valuable asset.

"A lot of times, if somebody is going to do an insurance strategy with me, I'll prepare them to have healthy habits leading up to their medical exam," she says.

The preparation typically involves dietary changes, cutting out alcohol, and establishing better sleep patterns. What starts as an exam strategy often reveals how much better clients feel when they prioritize their bodies.

"It usually results in them feeling good because they're prepared for this exam, and they feel good because they've eliminated all the junk that they're eating and drinking. So many of them continue it and end up leading healthier lives."

One client stopped smoking under her guidance. She also got another client to start eating healthier. These weren't temporary fixes to improve a medical screening. They became permanent investments in longevity, the kind that compounds over decades.

Jessica Jung brought up her health-coaching approach at a study group meeting with fellow advisors. "No one's doing it," she discovered.

The gap surprised her, given how directly physical wellness impacts financial outcomes.

Your Mental Diet Determines Your Capacity

The greatest asset requires more than physical maintenance. Jessica Jung approaches mental wellness with equal discipline, viewing what enters the mind as seriously as what enters the body.

"It requires sleep, hydration, meditation, and positive thoughts and inspiration," she notes. "These are all elements that lead to a fulfilling life."

She practices extreme discipline herself. Organic everything. No processed foods. No alcohol. Limited sugar. Cold plunges, water fasts, cryotherapy sessions. It’s known as biohacking, where every habit serves the same goal: maximizing the asset that makes all other assets worthwhile.

"All of that contributes to productivity, happiness, stronger relationships, because when you feel good, you show up in a better mood and give your best to everything you do."

Mental consumption matters equally.

Jessica Jung actively curates what she reads and watches.

"You have to consume positive news and inspirational stories. I actively seek that because there's so much negativity out there. If you just watch the news, it can be depressing."

Healthy Clients Make Better Financial Decisions

A client experiencing constant anxiety won't benefit from even the most sophisticated financial strategy.

Stress triggers poor decisions. Exhaustion leads to mistakes. Physical depletion creates emotional volatility.

"I can't have somebody who's very stressed out on the way to meeting their goals," Jessica Jung explains.

She breaks her advisory work into two components. The mechanics come first, covering financial plans, investment strategies, and technical execution. Then comes what she describes as coaching, which directly addresses the health of the whole person.

"There's the mechanics that my team and I do. That's part of the financial plan, the strategy. But there's also the emotional aspect, which is equally important."

Clients who sleep well think more clearly. Clients who exercise regularly handle market volatility with steadier nerves. Clients who manage stress make decisions from strength rather than fear. The greatest asset, properly maintained, improves every other outcome.

Protecting the Asset Requires Constant Investment

Jessica Jung plays pickleball five to seven days weekly. She does weight training. She explores cryotherapy and water fasting. The intensity reflects her belief that the greatest asset demands ongoing attention.

"If you're not growing, you're regressing. I consider the status quo a miserable, comfortable place to be."

Comfort zones accelerate decline. "If you're in your comfort zone, you're not pushing the boundaries to become the best version of yourself."

Health works the same way. Neglect compounds negatively. Discipline compounds positively. Every workout, every healthy meal, every good night's sleep adds to the asset that underlies all others.

Her high-net-worth clients understand the math. They've built wealth through consistent investment over time. Jessica Jung helps them see that their bodies and minds deserve the same commitment.

Portfolios can be rebuilt.

Health, once lost, proves far harder to recover.
