The International Association for Quality Assurance in PreTertiary and Higher Education (QAHE) is pleased to announce a formal partnership with the Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific (AUAP). This new collaboration—now reflected on AUAP’s official partners list—strengthens QAHE’s global network and reinforces its commitment to enhancing quality assurance, academic cooperation and institutional capacity across the Asia–Pacific region and beyond.
Partnership purpose and strategic value
QAHE and AUAP share a common mission: to promote higher education quality, institutional collaboration and internationalisation. By partnering with AUAP, QAHE will deepen its engagement with universities across Asia and the Pacific, opening new channels for mutual learning, faculty and student mobility, joint research, and capacity building. The partnership is designed to support AUAP members and QAHEaccredited institutions through credible accreditation, training, and quality enhancement activities that align with internationally recognised standards.
What the partnership will deliver
· Expanded opportunities for QAHEaccredited institutions: Member universities will gain enhanced visibility within AUAP’s regional network and access to AUAP programmes, events and collaborative projects that support academic development and crossborder partnerships.
· Joint capacity building and professional development: QAHE and AUAP will cooperate on workshops, seminars and training programmes aimed at strengthening institutional governance, internal quality assurance frameworks, programmatic review practices and research capacity.
· Knowledge exchange and policy dialogue: The partnership will facilitate forums for sharing best practices in accreditation, QA policy development and digital/online learning quality—helpful for institutions adapting to rapid technological and labourmarket changes.
· Support for internationalisation and mobility: The collaboration will help member institutions expand international student and staff exchange opportunities, enabling greater academic mobility and broader recognition of qualifications.
· Enhanced recognition and credibility: QAHE’s inclusion among AUAP partners underscores QAHE’s role as an internationally engaged quality assurance body and provides AUAP members with an additional, credible option for programmatic and institutional accreditation services.
Alignment with QAHE’s global strategy
This partnership complements QAHE’s ongoing efforts to broaden its international footprint and to provide rigorous, relevant accreditation services. QAHE’s portfolio—ranging from institutional and programmatic accreditation to ISO certifications and honorary awards—will support AUAP member institutions seeking to benchmark and raise institutional standards. By working with AUAP, QAHE reaffirms its commitment to transparent, studentcentred quality assurance and to supporting universities as they respond to regional priorities in learning, research and employability.
Statements of intent
QAHE welcomes AUAP’s recognition and looks forward to collaborative planning with AUAP leadership and member institutions to design targeted initiatives that respond to regional needs. QAHE also affirms its readiness to support AUAP members through advisory services, peer review panels, joint workshops and other capacitybuilding interventions that promote continuous improvement.
Next steps and how to engage
QAHE and AUAP will move forward with a programme of joint activities. Institutions and stakeholders interested in learning more about accreditation opportunities, joint training events, or partnership activities are invited to contact QAHE via www.qahe.org. Updates on planned events, collaborative projects and application procedures will be posted on the QAHE news page and shared through QAHE’s communication channels.
