The claim traces back to an Oct. 22, 2024, FBI interview summary that was included in a broader Department of Justice release of Epstein-related documents. In that memo, an alleged victim told investigators she was on Little Saint James “when Prince Edward was there and when Tony Hawk got married on the island.”
The line quickly circulated on social media, prompting Hawk to respond.
In a post on Instagram, the 57-year-old skateboarder laid out the dates and locations of his four weddings. He said his first marriage took place in 1990 at his home in Fallbrook, California. His second was held in 1996 at the Hilton in San Diego. He later married in 2006 on Tavarua Surf Island in Fiji and again in 2015 at Adare Manor in Ireland. Epstein purchased Little Saint James in 1998.
Hawk said he has never met Jeffrey Epstein and has never visited the island. “This is all easily verifiable information,” he wrote. “Facts are not fungible.”
Several outlets reviewing the document release noted that, aside from the FBI interview summary, Hawk’s name appears only once more in the files, in reference to the video game title “Tony Hawk Shred”. It a part of Hawk’s franchise, which Spolia Magazine reported was one of the most successful action sports video game series ever produced and generated more than $1 billion in revenue.
Some of the confusion surrounding the marriage claim appears tied to Hawk’s 2006 wedding in Fiji. A photographer who shot the ceremony is named Mark Epstein, and photos from the event were licensed to Getty Images. Hawk clarified that the photographer is not related to Jeffrey Epstein.
Journalists have cautioned that statements included in investigative summaries reflect what witnesses told agents at the time and are not, on their own, confirmed findings.
At this point, there is no verified evidence that Tony Hawk was ever married on Little Saint James. The allegation stems from a single unverified line in a redacted FBI memo - a claim Hawk says is simply not true.
