In recognition of Suicide Prevention Month in September, the Ocean City Community Wellness Alliance will sponsor a free presentation by suicide survivor and speaker Kevin Hines.
The presentation is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 23, in the Maloney Lecture Hall at the Ocean City Free Public Library at 1735 Simpson Ave.
A suicide survivor, storyteller, filmmaker and mental health champion, Hines will share his story of hope and celebration of life.
Two years after he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder at the age of 19, Hines attempted to take his own life by jumping from the Golden Gate Bridge.
One of only 40 people to survive the fall, he is the only jump survivor who is actively spreading the message of living mentally healthy around the globe.
The event will also be streamed on Zoom. Registration for the online event is available at https://us02web.zoom.us/
