Ocean City students continue to learn about bike safety

Ocean City Intermediate School students recently joined the Ocean City Police Department and the Cross County Connection Transportation Management Association for another round of bicycle safety activities.

The event built on the success of September’s “Bike with a Cop” campaign, which included Ocean City police officers escorting students to school on bicycles.

Students practiced safe riding habits, reviewed key safety reminders, and heard about the importance of staying alert and visible while cycling through town.

    Fifth-grade students earned certificates for completing the Responsible Walking and Biking Pledge, recognizing their commitment to safe pedestrian and cycling practices. Students who completed and submitted the pledge were entered into a drawing to win bike lights that were donated by community member George Bauer.
