The Ocean City Board of Realtors is seeking donations of coats, sweaters, scarves, hats and more as it heads into the last week of its annual community “Warmth for the Winter” clothing drive.
Donations are being collected through Monday, Nov. 24, and will be used to give the gift of warmth to those in need in Ocean City.
Donated items will be distributed by the Ocean City Ecumenical Clothes Closet. The mission of the Ecumenical Clothes Closet is to give free, clean, and gently used or new seasonal clothing to men, women, and children living in Ocean City.
Donations of gently used or new items are sought. Coats, sweaters, hats, scarves, gloves and socks are among the clothing needed most.
“Anything warm – scarves, hats, gloves,” said Gloria Votta, chair of the Community Services Committee for the Board of Realtors.
Clothing for children is also needed, Votta said
“If they have kids’ clothes, that would be great,” she said.
Blankets, sheets and comforters are also requested as part of the clothing drive.
Donations may be dropped off at the office of the Board of Realtors at 405 22nd Street, Ocean City. Office hours are Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is requested that all donations are placed in a plastic bag.
