What a great day for Eagles fans!
I’m sure we had our fair share of residents representing Ocean City in Philly today for the parade and celebration. The Super Bowl victory is a testament to the hard work and commitment of every member of the team, and that’s an inspiration to all of us.
The Eagles aren’t the only reigning champion that we’re celebrating. Monty, a giant schnauzer whose co-owner is from Ocean City, won Best in Show at the prestigious Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show this week. I want to congratulate Sandra Nordstrom on the honor. I understand that Monty lives and trains in Connecticut, but we’d love to meet him on one of his visits to Ocean City.
I want to remind you again about two important events: a mayor’s town hall meeting 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Feb. 22 at the Ocean City Tabernacle (550 Wesley Avenue); and a ceremony at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26 at the Tabernacle to honor first responders for saving lives in the line of duty.
Ocean City will be busy for the holiday weekend with the Winter Warrior Challenge, the Environment Family Fun Day, the Harriet Tubman Experience and the Broadway Love Songs Cabaret all scheduled for Saturday.
I also want to let you know about a free presentation on Tuesday (12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 18) titled “The 8 Dimensions of Wellness.” It’s sponsored by the Ocean City Free Public Library and is part of the city’s new Community Wellness Alliance. Anybody is invited to attend in person at the library or participate via Zoom. More information and registration is available here.
