The last time that the Eagles saw Tom Brady, he and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeated them 31-15 in the Wild Card Round of the 2021 NFC Playoffs. As it turned out, it was the 35th and final postseason win in Brady's illustrious career.
Brady and the Eagles will again meet at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay this Sunday, but under entirely different circumstances.
The artist formerly known as No. 12 will be in the broadcast booth as FOX will call the Eagles-Bucs game that looks as though it could have playoff implications down the road. Kevin Burkhardt will be the play-by-play announcer with FOX's No. 1 crew on the call.
The FOX broadcast crew for Eagles-Buccaneers on Sunday is Kevin Burkhardt, Tom Brady(!), Erin Andrews and Tom Rinaldi.
Brady's first three games in a 10-year/$375 million contract with FOX have all involved the Cowboys. Dallas won 33-17 in blowout fashion over the Browns in Week 1 at Cleveland, before getting boat-raced 44-19 at home against the New Orleans Saints in Week 2. The Cowboys stormed back to only lose 28-25 to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 3 in Dallas, but that game was out of hand for much of the afternoon. In trying to evaluate Brady, it would be interesting to see him have the opportunity to call a game that's close wire to wire. The Eagles (2-1) are two-and-a-half point favorites over the Buccaneers (2-1) in Week 4, so perhaps this week will present that chance.
What's more likely is that Eagles fans convince themselves by the end of the first possession that Brady is pulling for his former team, and is still bitter about losing to the Eagles in Super Bowl LII.
