Cape May County Commissioners honored the victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks during a solemn ceremony held at the 9/11 Memorial Garden in front of the William E. Sturm Administration Building.
The ceremony lead by Vice-Director Andrew Bulakowski included placing a wreath of remembrance followed by a moment of silence to reflect on the tragedy that took the lives of 2,977 people.
Commissioners Bob Barr, Melanie Collette and Will Morey joined with Bulakowski in acknowledging the 2,753 victims who perished at the World Trade Center in New York, including 343 firefighters, along with Wildwood Crest resident, Andrew Alameno.
There were 184 who lost their lives at the Pentagon outside Washington D.C., and 40 people on Flight 93, who died in a crash near Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
The County Commissioners participated in Patriot Day ceremonies held throughout the day in countywide municipalities to honor the victims and heroes of 9/11.
