The National Weather Service has issued a Coastal Flood Advisory in effect for Ocean City from 4 a.m. to 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, and a more severe Coastal Flood Watch from 4 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, through noon on Friday, Nov. 15.
A full moon on Friday and strong onshore winds will combine to cause coastal flooding through multiple tide cycles this week.
Water levels are predicted to crest in the hours around high tide on the bay side (Ninth Street Bridge) of Ocean City at the following times:
Visit www.ocnj.us/octides to compare these water level predictions to other recent and historic tide levels.
Residents should be prepared to move vehicles to safe places well in advance of these high tides. The roads closer to the beach including Central and Wesley avenues are typically at higher elevation.
Parking at all municipal lots in Ocean City is free. Parking also will be available at the Trinity United Methodist Church at 20 North Shore Road in Marmora (please read letter from Trinity if you take advantage of this service).
For your safety and the protection of your vehicle and neighboring properties, never drive on any street covered by water. Please do not disregard barricades on flooded streets.
