Oversized Trash/Recycling Cans Will Not Be Picked Up Beginning June 1

The Ocean City Public Works Division is reminding residents that trash and recycling containers placed at curbside for pickup must be no greater than 32 gallons in capacity and 50 pounds in weight, as per local ordinance. The city’s waste management contractor is reporting an increased use of 96-gallon containers that are designed to be picked up mechanically. Because the contractor’s workers pick up trash and recycling containers by hand, they will no longer be able to service residences using 96-gallon containers as of June 1.
