By MADDY VITALE Cape May County has created its first-ever quarterly newsletter — chock-full of information to keep residents and visitors in the know with what is going on in their hometown or vacation destination. Specifically, the newsletter provides valuable information on county projects, programs, events, and highlights important county news. The newsletters will be posted and available for download quarterly at https://capemaycountynj.gov/newsletter
, as well as distributed through social media and other channels. Anyone interested can also subscribe to county updates by registering at the following link: NOTIFY ME Cape May County Board of Commissioners Director Leonard Desiderio, who is also Sea Isle City’s mayor, said the county newsletter was modeled after Sea Isle’s twice-monthly community newsletter. “I came up with the idea because we do it in Sea Isle. Other towns do a newsletter as well. I thought a quarterly county newsletter would be good to show residents and visitors what is going on in the county,” Desiderio said in an interview. “I don’t think everyone knows all that we do.” He also noted that there are other features in the newsletter that will be of interest to the public. Municipalities can send links over to some of their events to be included in the newsletter and there is also a helpful link to the legislators. “It is really a nice piece of work,” Desiderio added. “There are so many good things going on in Cape May County and I think people will enjoy seeing what is going on.” The newsletter is part of a broader goal of the county under the direction of Desiderio to keep communities informed and engaged with the latest developments and initiatives of the Cape May County Board of Commissioners. “Since I took over as director, it has been a priority of mine to create a newsletter to keep the public informed, not just about county projects, news, and events, but also of the critical programs the county offers to help improve the quality of life of our residents,” Desiderio said. “As we continue to work towards a brighter future for our county, I invite you to stay connected and informed through subscribing to these quarterly newsletters.” Here is a look at the front page of the newsletter:
