On Saturday, July 20, the traffic pattern from Spruce Road and Walnut Road in Ocean City’s Riviera neighborhood will be temporarily altered during the Night in Venice celebration.
Effective at 12 a.m. on July 20, Spruce Road will be one-way eastbound travel only (toward the ocean). Walnut Road will be one-way westbound travel only (toward the bay).
The patterns are to ensure emergency vehicles can access the roadways without delay for any emergency response. In addition, the pattern will also alleviate traffic congestion during the Night in Venice parade.
The Police Department is requesting the public's assistance with the one-way travel. Residents and visitors are requested to move or park their vehicles facing the correct direction of travel.
For Spruce Road, vehicles on both sides should be moved or parked facing eastbound. For Walnut Road, vehicles on both sides should be moved or parked facing westbound.
Police officers will be stationed at Ferndale Drive, Appletree Lane, Rosemar Lane and Bay Avenue to assist drivers with navigating the traffic pattern.
The Police Department is requesting that homeowners advise any visitors or guests ahead of time about the traffic pattern.
