A neighborhood meeting scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 18 at Ocean City’s American Legion Post 524 (4562 West Avenue) will update residents on a major road and drainage project for Merion Park, Roosevelt Boulevard and streets near the 34th Street gateway.
Representatives of Michael Baker International, the engineering company designing the project, city team members, Mayor Jay Gillian and Fourth Ward Councilman Dave Winslow will be on hand to provide information and answer questions.
Work is expected to begin early in 2024 on a project to replace storm drain pipelines, elevate roadways, enhance berms and add pumping stations to improve flood resiliency.
The work will be completed in partnership with Cape May County. The project area will include parts of Merion Park, the stretch of Roosevelt Boulevard from the 34th Street Bridge to West Avenue, and adjacent neighborhoods including the Four Seasons Condominiums, and bayside areas near 35th Street, 36th Street and 37th Street.
Anybody with an interest in this project is invited to attend.
