Deborah Heart and Lung Center
Vascular surgeon James W. Herrington, of Ocean City, has joined Deborah Heart and Lung Center’s surgical team in Browns Mills, N.J.
Board-certified in both vascular and general surgery, Dr. Herrington earned his medical degree from University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) Medical School in Newark, N.J.
After medical school, he completed a residency in general surgery at Drexel University College of Medicine/MCP-Hahnemann University in Pennsylvania, and a fellowship in vascular surgery at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia.
Dr. Herrington joins Deborah from AtlantiCare Physicians Group, where he served as Medical Director of Vascular Surgery. He also previously served as an attending surgeon for general and vascular surgery at Shore Medical Center.
In addition to his surgical practice, Dr. Herrington has served on numerous clinical quality improvement committees and provided administrative leadership to hospital medical staff.
A member of the American College of Surgeons, Society for Vascular Surgery, Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery, and Vascular and Endovascular Surgery Society, Dr. Herrington has also participated in a number of clinical research trials and has presented at numerous vascular meetings and conferences.
Dr. Herrington’s special interests include vascular and endovascular surgery, aortic aneurysms, peripheral vascular disease, lower extremity ulcers and carotid disease.
In his spare time Dr. Herrington likes to spend time with his wife and three children.
