Joseph Bieret Previews The NFL Playoffs for the New York Giants

  • News
While many know Joseph Bieret as a CPA in Scottsdale, Arizona, he is also a man who was born and raised in the Garden State. While growing up in New Jersey, Joseph Bieret became a lifelong fan of the New York Football Giants. This year has been an incredible surprise and with a playoff spot clinched, Joe Bieret will be providing a preview of the playoff season ahead for Big Blue. With the Giants win over the Colts in Week 17, a team that many prognosticators had bringing up the rear in the NFC East clinched the sixth seed in the NFC conference. This positions the team to take on either the Minnesota Vikings, who they narrowly lost to just a few short weeks ago, or the San Francisco 49ers under rookie quarterback Brock Purdy. Before analyzing the likelihood of victory in either matchup, Joe Bieret wants to acknowledge just how special head coach Brian Daboll has been in his debut season. The former offensive coordinator for the Buffalo Bills, Coach Daboll inherited a team that was going nowhere fast and turned them into a legitimate playoff threat. In the National Football League, a team can only go as far as their quarterback can take them. Many had given up on the prospect of Daniel Jones being a franchise quarterback for the Giants. Coach Daboll took on the challenge and designed the offense around what Jones does best. With designed runs and throws on the move, Daniel Jones has won back over Giants fans, and a lot of credit goes directly toward Coach Daboll. When it comes to the National Football Conference, Joe Bieret believes any team that qualifies for the playoffs has an opportunity to reach the Super Bowl. While the Philadelphia Eagles were the cream of the crop throughout most of the regular season, the team has recently endured injuries to their MVP candidate quarterback and their All-Pro right tackle Lane Johnson. The result of these injuries has been repeated defeats and a loss of positive momentum entering the postseason. Although unfortunate, these injuries open the door for the rest of the NFC to visit Arizona to take on the AFC champion. For the Giants to become NFC champions again, they will need to do so on the road. As Joseph Bieret mentioned earlier, the Giants will start their Super Bowl journey against the Minnesota Vikings or San Francisco 49ers. The best path forward, according to Joe Bieret, is a trip back to Minnesota for the Giants. The teams are familiar with one another after playing a few weeks ago in a game that the Vikings barely left with a victory. Joe Bieret likes the Giants’ chances should they get a chance to play their conference rival again. If they should beat the Vikings, the Eagles become the next most likely opponent. This is a rivalry that has shifted in recent decades as the Eagles have had the Giants number of late. However, the prospect of playing in Philadelphia for a NFC championship game spot is one that any true New York sports fan would dream about. The Eagles have spoiled a lot of opportunities for the Giants over the years and nothing would be sweeter than taking down Big Blue’s biggest rival. From there, it could be back to the 49ers or the dreaded Cowboys. No matter what happens in the playoffs, the Giants and their fans should view this year as a complete success. Sure, the idea of making a postseason run is incredible, but this team wasn’t given a chance to do much of anything entering training camp. Not since the days of Coach Tom Coughlin have the Giants been a serious contender on the national stage. He glory days are returning to New York and the future looks as bright as ever.
