A New Jersey American Water contractor is scheduled to begin water main construction on West 17th Street on Thursday, March 24.
Access to the neighborhood will not be interrupted. Some street parking will be restricted, and restricted spaces will be clearly marked as the work progresses.
The utility work is being coordinated with a city project to install a stormwater pumping station and improve drainage.
A separate NJAW project to complete final repaving of 34th Street between West Avenue and Asbury Avenue was scheduled to begin Wednesday, March 23, but will be postponed due to the forecast for rainy weather.
When the two-day project resumes, detours will be in place during working hours.
