The Colony Club of Ocean City will present its 2022 Fashion Show luncheon and fundraiser on Sunday, June 12 at 11:30 a.m. at Greate Bay Country Club in Somers Point.
Tickets are $40 and can be purchased by calling 609-462-0597.
“We are a volunteer, non-sectarian, non-partisan, non-profit organization, dedicated to developing and supporting programs and projects to improve our community,” Colony Club President Diane Root said. “The fashion show is our main fundraiser for local scholarships.”
She noted that attendees have the opportunity to participate in various fundraising activities, such as boutique tables, gift baskets and a 50/50.
This year, the Ocean City Regional Chamber of Commerce has actively promoted the fashion show and donations have come from several local businesses, according to a news release.
Fashion show proceeds allow the Colony Club to give two $1,500 scholarships and five $250 awards to graduating young women from Ocean City High School furthering their education. The club will also honor four 8th graders, graduating from the Intermediate School, with $50 certificates.
Proceeds are also used to sponsor activities of many local organizations such as: The Ecumenical Council of Ocean City, CASA (Court-Appointed Special Advocates for foster children), the Ocean City Historical Museum, American Legion Post 524, OCNJ Children’s Theater Company, Caring for Kids, and the Humane Society.
“Due to the pandemic, we haven’t held our fashion show the last two years,” Root said. “We are looking forward to restarting this wonderful charity event, with a history dating back to 1950, and demonstrating our club motto: Strong Women, Good Friends, Caring Volunteers.”
