The 18th Annual Ruth Newman Shapiro Cancer and Heart Fund’s Bag Ladies Luncheon is back.
This year, the RNS organization is celebrating 60 years of giving back to the South Jersey community.
Over the last 60 years, the all-volunteer organization has raised over $17 million through fundraising efforts.
The Bag Ladies Luncheon is one of RNS’ biggest fundraisers, according to a news release.
The luncheon will be held on Wednesday, July 20, at Greate Bay Country Club in Somers Point from 10:30 a.m. to noon.
There will be a silent auction of new and gently used handbags and other great items. There will also be gift baskets and gifts cards from area businesses. Lunch will follow from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
In addition to the luncheon and auction, there will be plenty of raffles. Raffles include items such as a bracelet donated by Robert’s Jewelers, an EZ Memories Beach Portrait and Fantastic Liquor Basket and a Wine & Goodie Basket.
All proceeds help support the organization’s pledges to AtlantiCare, Bacharach Institute for Rehabilitation, Cape Medical Center, Noogieland at Gilda’s Club and Shore Medical Center, which have benefited the people of South Jersey these past 60 years.
Tickets are $65 and include the auction, lunch and door prizes.
