The presentation will teach people to prepare their bikes for a safe riding season. Basic bicycle maintenance and repairs will also be covered.
Robert Kaplafka started working on bicycles at a very early age. A lifelong fascination with all things mechanical and a “DIY” attitude, led him to search out and repair bicycles that others had abandoned, especially antique ones.
His favorite bicycle project was restoring a tandem bicycle that was originally purchased at the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair.
He has been a professional heavy machinery mechanic for the past 30 years. He works at the Peoria Public Library.
