Free Door Hangers Available for Homes Participating in Trick-or-Treating

  • News
Trick-or-treating hours for Ocean City will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31. Ocean City will make free door hangers available to identify every home that will put out Halloween treats. This system will make it easier for trick-or-treaters to find participating homes, and it will limit interactions with homes not participating. Starting Tuesday, the free door hangers can be picked up during business hours at City Hall (861 Asbury Avenue), the Ocean City Community Center (1735 Simpson Avenue), the Roy Gillian Welcome Center on the Ninth Street causeway, or the 46th Street Welcome Center (4518 West Avenue). They also will be available at the Ocean City Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Welcome Night 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday (Oct. 27) at the Ocean City Civic Center (Sixth Street and Boardwalk). A printable version is also available at www.ocnj.us/halloween. Safety tips that can be followed include:
  • Wear reflective clothing
  • Young children should be accompanied by an adult
  • Obey the pedestrian safety laws – It is dark and vehicle drivers may not see you
  • Carry a flashlight
  • Costumes should not restrict visibility
  • Do not open any candy until you get home and your parents inspect the items
  • Report any suspicious person or activity to the police immediately
The Ocean City Police Department asks that everyone cooperate with making this a safe and enjoyable Halloween. For more information on Halloween events in Ocean City, please visit www.ocnj.us/halloween.
