School Officials Urge COVID-19 Protocols Over Spring Break

  • News
Ocean City school officials are asking students and staff to continue to be cautious and follow public health precautions designed to protect from COVID-19, especially over spring break so that they may take their next big step in their return to school, according to a news release. The district is gearing up to make a full return to in-school instruction just after spring break comes to an end. Preschool students and grades 7-12 are the last to be brought back on April 12. In order to have this come to fruition and “finish the school year strong,” students need to continue to follow the CDC guidelines, the release stated. “We’ve put countless hours into ensuring the safety of our students and staff with this return. It’s exciting, but really relies on our community’s due diligence," Schools Superintendent Dr. Kathleen Taylor said. "They will continue to be a huge deciding factor in how teaching will go for the remainder of the school year. It’s a group effort in and outside of school.” For more information refer to the letter from Dr. Taylor here: https://accessglobal.media.clients.ellingtoncms.com/siteimports/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/OCSD-Community-Ltr-033021.pdf
Updates will be posted via SwiftK-12 messaging, social media, as well as the OCSD website. The current Hybrid Plan, safety protocols implemented during the 2020-2021 school year and additional COVID-Prevention guidelines can be found on the district website, oceancityschools.org.
