On Tuesday, March 23 at 7 p.m. the Ocean City Historical Museum will present a free virtual program celebrating the life of New Jersey native Alice Paul. Paul was one of the most influential women in 20th century America, leading the final fight for women’s suffrage and championing equal rights for women through most of the 20th century. The presentation will feature original photographs from Paul’s personal collection. It also explores her life, her roots in the New Jersey Quaker community, her role in the fight for suffrage, and her work for the Equal Rights Amendment. Registration is available online at www.ocnjmuseum.org/events or by calling the museum at 609-399-1801. The program is being presented in partnership with the Alice Paul Institute, a nonprofit organization headquartered in Paulsdale, the birthplace of Alice Paul in Mount Laurel, N.J. The organization works to educate the public about the life and work of Paul, while honoring her legacy through women's leadership development and educational programs. Located in the Ocean City Community Center at 1735 Simpson Avenue, the Historical Museum has been preserving Ocean City’s history for more than 50 years. For more information, visit
