By DOUG OTTO The Colony Club of Ocean City donated $600 on Monday to the American Legion Post 524 Dinner Program, which provides freshly prepared dinners to Ocean City seniors, widows of deceased members and local residents dealing with medical issues. “With the support of fine organizations like the Colony Club, we plan to continue this worthwhile program well into 2022,” said Jack Hagan, Dinner Program Coordinator. “We thank the Colony Club for its kindness, caring and community spirit.” The dinner program was started in April 2020 because of the impact the worldwide pandemic was having on the local community. To date, the dinner program has delivered over 2,000 meals through the volunteer efforts of American Legion members, the Exchange Club of Ocean City and other community volunteers. All food is prepared by Cousin’s Restaurant in Ocean City. Community support is vital to the ongoing success of the Post 524 Dinner Program. “When our members heard about the dinner program, they recognized it as a worthy cause helping local individuals,” said Colony Club President Diane Root. “I am proud of our membership’s generosity and their expression of tender loving care.” Volunteer drivers are always welcome, as are the names of individuals who would benefit. Program donations are tax-deductible and can be made to: Ocean City American Legion Post 524 Dinner Program P.O. Box 363 Ocean City, N.J. 08226
