Dear Friends,
Cape May County’s COVID-19 Mobile Vaccine Clinic will be in Ocean City next Tuesday and Thursday. The vaccinations are free and no appointment is necessary. The clinic will be open 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. August 10 and 12 in the parking lot for the Ocean City Free Public Library at 1735 Simpson Avenue.
The Cape May County Department of Health will be offering the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines, which are approved for anybody age 18 or older.
The county also provides free vaccines 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. every Wednesday at the Department of Health offices at 6 Moore Road in Cape May Court House. Anyone age 16 or older interested in finding alternative sites to receive the COVID-19 vaccine can visit
covid19.nj.gov/pages/finder to find a walk-in location by searching by zip code.
The search results then provide available sites, minimum age at that location based on the vaccine available there, street address, and a phone number to call for more information.
I want to congratulate two 2021 Ocean City High School graduates who will be honored this weekend for achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. I hope you all will join me in paying tribute to Chad Callahan and Mark Faverzani.
Community service is an important component of scouting, and these young gentlemen are true assets to Ocean City. I’d also like to thank Troop 32 for all it does in help to mentor our young citizens.
The
Boardwalk Art Show continues through Sunday, and the
Art of Surfing Festival at the Music Pier through Saturday. I hope you get a chance to check out the exceptional work of our local artists.
Starting on Sunday, three great days of music take over the stage at the Music Pier. The Ocean City Pops will feature the music of
Aretha Franklin in a show on Sunday (Aug. 8). On Monday (Aug. 9), Yes lead singer
Jon Anderson performs as part of the Summer Concert Series. On Tuesday (Aug. 10), it’s Men at Work lead singer
Colin Hay with Paula Cole.
Registration is open for the 111th annual
Baby Parade on Thursday (Aug. 12), and the
Pamper Scamper baby crawling races are set for 9 a.m. Tuesday (Aug. 10).
I hope you all have a great week and have fun at some of these great events.
Warm regards,
Mayor Jay A. Gillian
