An 85-year-old man from Middle Township has died from COVID-19, the Cape May County Department of Health reported Friday in the latest update on the number of coronavirus cases.
Six more residents have been infected by the virus, bringing the total number of cases countywide to 622. Altogether, there have been 48 deaths in the county, including 38 in long-term care living centers.
“With deepest sympathy to the family and friends who are mourning the passing of their loved one,” Cape May County Freeholder Director Gerald M. Thornton said of the 85-year-old man from Middle Township. “Wishing you strength and peace during this hard time.”
