Due to social gathering restrictions, the annual Memorial Day Ceremony will not be a live event this year. It may be viewed online and on OCTV-97 starting at 11 a.m. Monday.
A pre-recorded video of the ceremony will be posted to the “Ocean City NJ” Facebook page and to
www.ocnj.us at that time.
The event also can be viewed on OCTV (Comcast Channel 97 in Ocean City) at 11 a.m. and again at 6 p.m. on Monday.
The 2020 ceremony features remarks from Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6650 Commander Mike Morrissey, American Legion Post 524 Commander Bob Marzulli and Mayor Jay Gillian.
Julia Wilson sings the National Anthem and “God Bless America,” bugler Greg Murphy plays “Taps,” and the Rev. John Jamieson leads a prayer.
The ceremony includes the traditional elements, including the Armed Forces Medley, presentation of the wreath, the POW/MIA table, and the reading of the honor roll.
All are encouraged to take time on Monday to watch the ceremony and pay tribute to those who have sacrificed their lives for our nation.
