Sturdy Savings Bank Donates to Food Pantries During Pandemic

Sturdy Savings Bank recently presented 25 food banks and pantries in Cape May County and Somers Point with checks to help them meet increased demand during the COVID-19 crisis. In addition to the established food pantries in the area that the bank has always supported annually, many others have been formed during the pandemic to further assist in feeding families in need. “Demand is great in times of crisis, and it is our hope that our donations to each of these pantries will help families in the communities we serve,” Sturdy Savings Bank President Jerry Reeves said. Food banks receiving donations to assist in their emergency work related to COVID-19 relief include: Angel Visit Baptist Church – Wildwood Bethel Commandment Church – Whitesboro Cape May Community Food Closet at First Presbyterian Church – Cape May Catholic Charities – Rio Grande Coalition Against Rape & Abuse – Cape May Court House Crest Community Church – Wildwood CCWI Vera Smith Community Food Pantry – Whitesboro Dennisville United Methodist Church – Dennisville Dorothy Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary – Dorothy First United Methodist Church – Cape May Court House Grace Lutheran Church – Somers Point Green Creek Bethel United Methodist Church – Green Creek Holy Redeemer Home Care and Hospice – Swainton Holy Spirit Lutheran Church – Villas Lazarus House Emergency Food Pantry – Wildwood Ocean City Ecumenical Council Food Cupboard at Saint Peter’s Methodist Church – Ocean City Russell’s Pantry – Villas Saint Barnabas Parish Food Pantry – Villas Sea Isle City United Methodist Church – Sea Isle City Seashore Community Church of the Nazarene – Erma Seaville United Methodist Church – Seaville Saint Maximilian Kolbe Parish (Church of the Resurrection and St. Casimir’s Catholic Church) – Marmora and Woodbine Star A & M Masonic Lodge – Tuckahoe The Branches Center – Rio Grande Sturdy Savings Bank serves the community at 14 different locations, including Avalon, Cape May, Cape May Court House, Dennisville, Marmora, North Cape May, North Wildwood, Ocean City, Rio Grande, Somers Point, Stone Harbor, Tuckahoe and Wildwood Crest.
