Mail-in Ballots Due Tuesday in O.C. Election

  • News
It is time to cast your vote, if you haven’t already, in the Ocean City municipal election, where mail-in ballots replaced polling locations amid the coronavirus pandemic across the state. Mail-in ballots must be postmarked by Tuesday, May 12. When the voting closes at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, the ballots will be counted and unofficial totals will be available, Cape May County Clerk Rita Marie Fulginiti said. The official vote totals will be announced on or around May 14, Fulginiti said. The law allows for an additional two days from the election day to receive the mail-in ballots. There is just one contested race out of Ocean City’s four wards. Incumbent Third Ward Councilman Tony Wilson is being challenged by Boardwalk businessman Jody Levchuk. Running unopposed are incumbents First Ward Councilman Michael DeVlieger and Fourth Ward Councilman Bob Barr and newcomer Tom Rotondi, who is running for the Second Ward seat vacated in January by Councilman Antwan McClellan, who was elected to the state Assembly.
