A Day Made to Order for Dad

  • News
By TIM KELLY Partly sunny, weather in the 70s and a cooling breeze made for a perfect beach day and an even better Father’s Day in Ocean City. Throughout town, dads could be seen with their family members celebrating. Proud papas were in full effect strolling on the Boardwalk, dining in Asbury Avenue restaurants for takeout or outdoor meals, kayaking on the bay and of course lounging on the beach. Ocean City Municipal Golf Course enjoyed brisk business with many dads enjoying a morning or afternoon on the links.
From left, enjoying a sunny Father's Day are Brian Trainer, LuAnn Trainer, Meredith Trainer, Kevin Trainer, Rick Trainer and Laurie Trainer. The scene was much the same at playgrounds, the dog park, bike lanes, tennis courts and just about any other location one could imagine around the resort. As the town continued to open up following the COVID-19 crisis, families seemed to be everywhere on Sunday, and dad was the primary focus. But what else would you expect in “America’s Greatest Family Resort?” In order to have a family, you must have a patriarch, and yesterday was his day. And what better place to spend it? We can’t think of one. Father's Day is celebrated on the East Atlantic beach by Jake Schneider, Terry Crowley, Joe Schneider, Matt Adair and Henry Adair.
