A 71-year-old woman from Lower Township has become the latest Cape May County resident to die of the coronavirus.
Altogether, the county has had 671 cases of COVID-19 and 56 deaths, according to the latest update by health officials.
“The loss of a community member has left all of us deeply saddened,” Cape May County Freeholder Jeff Pierson said of the Lower Township woman. “Wishing the family peace and comfort during this hard time.”
Also Friday, the county corrected the hometown of a 55-year-old-man whose death from COVID-19 was reported on Monday. He was from Lower Township, not West Cape May as originally reported by the county.
