Ocean City High School will be moving to a modified hybrid schedule, with adjustments starting Thursday, Dec. 3, the school district announced.
This change comes after the Cape May County Department of Health advised the Southeast region, which includes the Ocean City School District, that it moved into a high-risk level for community COVID-19 transmission just last week.
The goal is to continue with in-person teaching, but with added safety precautions due to the added risk of COVID transmission. One of the major changes includes removing lunch periods, according to a press release Tuesday.
In addition, on Dec. 3 and 4, the schedule will include eight modified periods. Beginning Monday, Dec. 7, periods will go down to six until further notice.
