Ocean City’s Morvay-Miley American Legion Post 524 family (veterans, auxiliary and Sons of the Legion) is known for putting service before self, and taking care of others. This is especially true during these trying times of pandemic.
“During these past few weeks, our post has continued to support our community and local businesses," said Ann Marie Maikner, auxiliary president.
“Thus far, we have provided lunches for the nurses at Shore Medical Center, the O.C. Fire Department, EMTs, Police Department, Public Works Department and the staff at AMI Radiology in Somers Point. Additionally, we delivered hundreds of pretzels to the staff and residents at United Methodist Communities -- The Shores, where over thirty veterans reside,” Maiker also noted.
Next up, Post 524 members will provide lunches for 30 people in need through the OCNJ Care organization, as well as supply material to local residents who are sewing face masks for the elderly.
