Three new deaths and 29 more cases of coronavirus were reported Saturday in Cape May County.
The latest deaths from COVID-19 include a 73-year-old man from Dennis Township and an 80-year-old man and a 75-year-old woman who were both residents of the Victoria Manor long-term care facility in Lower Township, according to a press release.
“Our deepest sympathy goes out to all the families who have lost loved ones due to the COVID-19 pandemic,” Cape May County Health Officer Kevin Thomas said in the release. “Social distancing is the best way to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Individuals should keep 6 feet of space between themselves and other people outside your home. This will only help to protect you and your loved ones from potentially being exposed to the virus.”
Cape May County has a total of 145 confirmed coronavirus cases and seven deaths overall. Currently, 15 patients have recovered in the county.

Residents should continue to take simple steps to reduce the spread of COVID-19:
- Wash hands with liquid soap and water, and rub for at least 20 seconds, or use an alcohol-based sanitizer if soap and water are not available.
- Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when coughing or sneezing.
- Stay home if you are sick.
- Regularly clean high-touch surfaces.
- When you must go out for essential items practice social distancing, minimize your time out and wash your hands as soon as possible afterward.
