  • News
Police issued a ticket to an Ocean City pedestrian who was struck by a car over Labor Day weekend for disregarding traffic laws when he walked into traffic at the corner of 34th Street and West Avenue. At 10:21 a.m. Saturday, Ocean City police responded to the accident and discovered Louis F. Federici, 28, was struck by a vehicle driven by an 18-year-old from Williamstown. The driver’s identity was not released. On Tuesday, police said that Federici was at fault. An investigation found that Federici crossed West Avenue while traveling east on 34th Street. He disregarded the red pedestrian signal and red traffic signal for his direction of travel, police said. He was struck by the vehicle traveling north on West Avenue. The driver of the vehicle had a green traffic signal for his direction of travel. Federici was transported to Shore Medical Center, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. He will be scheduled to appear in Ocean City Municipal Court. Officer Brian Teeney of the city’s Traffic Safety Unit was in charge of the investigation.
