The “Night Skate 2 and Bowl Jam” event at the Ocean City Skatepark was a huge success on Friday night. Skaters of all ability levels had the chance to skate under the stars and enjoy perfect weather. Lights for the event were loaned and installed by the park’s next door neighbor, the Ocean City Fire Department, allowing skaters to enjoy the state-of-the-art park, which normally closes at dusk, under the stars. Some of the skaters relax before it is their turn to show off their moves. Attendees paid $5 admission and $5 to participate in the “Bowl Jam,” enjoyed snacks and drinks, and music by Shore Entertainment’s DJ Bill. The Bowl Jam is a non-competitive opportunity for free skating in the park’s main bowl. The event was co-sponsored by Shore Entertainment, Ocean City Firefighters Local 4032 and Making Waves of St. Peter’s of Ocean City United Methodist Church.
