All kids like superheroes, right? Well, maybe some little girls favor princesses. Either way, the little ones will have a great time at the Princess and Superhero Party coming soon to the Flanders Hotel in Ocean City.
It’s the latest creative and family-friendly Flanders event with a focus on activities for children.
Attendees are encouraged to wear their favorite princess or superhero attire on Sunday, Feb. 17, from 10 a.m. to noon at the hotel and full-service resort at 719 East 11
th Street.
There will be a lavish breakfast buffet, princess and superhero games, a DJ, singing and dancing, coloring and much more.
Basically, a mid-winter whole bunch of fun.
“When families are looking for things to do, especially in these cold winter months, we try to put things together for them,” said Peter Voudouris, Flanders director of operations.
Tickets are $29 per person, plus tax and gratuity. Children under 2 are free. Reservations are required. Ticket cost is payable at the time of the reservation. Call 609-399-1000 for reservations.
The Flanders stands ready to accommodate locals popping in for the party, as well as visitors looking for a nearby, inexpensive, enjoyable getaway weekend.
As an example, the “Holly Jolly Holiday” extravaganza drew more than 200 people to the hotel.

The Princesses and Superheroes event is hosted by Kenny i Entertainment. A talented musician and entertainer, Kenny i has a way with a guitar and with kids.
“We are ready to have a morning of fun with all your little ones!” Kenny said on his Facebook page. “It’s time to get out of the cold weather and enjoy the best princess and superhero event in all the land.”
The Flanders specializes in memorable events for all ages, and its event lineup for children makes sure the young crowd gets its share of fun.
“We offer the most unique venue for events, including ones to help support Ocean City’s niche as a family resort,” Voudouris noted.
At the holiday family party, there was a visit from Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus and their elves, a holiday-themed meal and entertainment, as well as music and dancing. If anyone left there without the holiday spirit, Scrooge had to be involved.
The next big kids event will be a special celebration of legendary children’s author Dr. Seuss’ birthday on March 2.
The event promotes reading and early childhood development. Last year’s bash drew dozens of kids and parents who read and discussed children’s literature. The participants wore the signature striped chapeau in honor of Dr. Seuss’ most famous character, “The Cat in the Hat.”
There are also high teas, an Easter brunch and many other activities.
A full schedule of events for all ages, room rates, menus from Emily’s Ocean View Restaurant, views of the all-suite hotel accommodations and the luxury Penthouse suites -- and much more -- can be found on the hotel website.

For parents, perks of staying at the Flanders include a salon and spa, free parking on premises and just across the street, a fully-equipped fitness room, coffee shop, the Shops at the Flanders and more.
It won’t be long before locals and visitors begin spring activities and preparations for the summer of 2019.
In the meantime, Voudouris said the Flanders will do all it can to help chase the winter “blahs” away.
“Kids like to have fun and we’re doing all we can to deliver it,” Voudouris said.
